As a maître d’hotel you are responsible for coordinating service tasks in the restaurant and bar. You are accountable to the hotel manager and work closely with all restaurant employees and the kitchen team. Your duties include greeting guests, managing open seating & reservations, overseeing the dining room operations, and ensuring that customers have an exceptional dining experience. You must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a deep understanding of the restaurant’s menu and wine list. Additionally, you are responsible for training and supervising waitstaff, addressing customer complaints, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety throughout the establishment.

You:
Have a strong knowledge of the F&B deparment
Experience within hospitality in a similar position with outstanding and proven management skills and hands-on experience
Preferably previous (river) cruise experience

You active stimulate teamwork in the restaurant team and between the different departments
The well-being of the crew on the ship is important to you
You are open minded and flexible and have a hands-on mentality
You are able to train and support crew members in bar as well as restaurant department
You are resistant to stress and resilient
Excellent English skills (written & verbal), German knowledge is a big advantage
